Who are we?

Conservators work to preserve our cultural heritage. We work in museums, art galleries, libraries, archives and in private practice.

The AICCM is the professional organisation for conservators in Australia.

The AICCM's Special Interest Groups reflect the diversity of members' expertise. Our members specialise in areas as diverse as antarctic heritage, furniture, photographs, gilded objects, digital media, costume and glass. Conservators may also specialise in collection management, preventive conservation and environmental analysis.

The information in this history was largely drawn from available National AGM minutes and Executive reports from the National Newsletter. It includes significant AICCM activities and decisions as well as relevant events from the Australian cultural sector.
