Michael Marendy
This award recognises Michael’s longstanding work as a conservator since 1988, and his demonstrated willingness to share his conservation knowledge and expertise throughout Queensland. As a first for the AICCM Awards, his nomination originated from outside the conservation profession. Michael was nominated by the Queensland Women’s Historical Association and supported by conservation colleagues particularly for his work on the costume exhibition ‘High Society’. His work on this exhibition exemplifies the incredible conservation advice and service he has provided to countless organisations throughout his career. Michael has undertaken conservation projects with a variety of National, State and Local government organisations, as well as partially and entirely run volunteer organisations. He has demonstrated long term commitment and involved with AICCM and has been a member since 1989.
