AICCM Paintings Special Interest Group VIRTUAL FORUM
AICCM Paintings Special Interest Group VIRTUAL FORUM
November 15 - December 3, 2021
Registration is now open
The AICCM Paintings Special Interest Group, in partnership with the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), is delighted to announce that registrations are now open for the AUSTRALIAN MADE 2021 Virtual Forum.
This exciting event will take place entirely online over 3 weeks. It features over 30 presentations, videos, interviews and posters celebrating the diversity and originality of artmaking in Australia, and showcases outstanding original work relating to the study, treatment and care of Australian paintings.
The second week of the program includes a special focus on the latest conservation treatment technologies, including novel structural and cleaning methods, providing an unmissable opportunity to expand your knowledge and reflect on evolving practices.
A full list of presenters will be published soon, and includes representatives from leading commercial conservation studios, collecting institutions and researchers located across Australia and around the world.
We are privileged to host the following special guest speakers:
- Dr Bronwyn Ormsby, Principal Conservation Scientist, Tate, London
- Professor Piero Baglioni, The Chair of Physical Chemistry, University of Florence, and Director of the Research Center for Colloids and Nanoscience (CSGI)
- David Coles, master paint-maker and founder of Langridge Artist Colours, Melbourne, and author of Chromatopia (2018)
- Myles Russell-Cook, Acting Senior Curator, Indigenous Art, NGV
Join us to reconnect with colleagues near and far, discover new insights, plan new initiatives, be inspired – and flaunt your knowledge of unimportant facts at a Virtual Trivia Night hosted by Melbourne comedian and trivia queen, Janet McLeod!
Recordings of all previous sessions will be made available for the duration of the 3 week event, and most content will continue to remain accessible to registered participants for a further 4 month period post-event (any content expiring earlier will be identified on the Forum website)
