Cultural Context and Conservation Practice: Reflections from JPC 2025
This talk reflects on Noni’s three-week experience at the International Course on the Conservation of Japanese Paper (JPC 2025). Noni will outline the programme, share practical insights, and discuss how the course addressed potential misconceptions about Japanese paper and the conservation of Japanese cultural properties.
Noni is a Conservator at the University of Melbourne’s Grimwade Conservation Services, specialising in paper, photograph and preventive conservation.
Peter Mitchelson, Paper & Book Conservator
Work Experience in a Book and Paper lab in Paris 2025
This presentation will share Peter’s experiences and reflections from undertaking two weeks work experience in Paris.
Peter Mitchelson is a book and paper conservator working for Grimwade Conservation Services, the University of Melbourne. Prior to training as a conservator he studied art history, and worked in the art industry.
