Peter Mitchelson, Paper & Book Conservator
Reflections from the Attingham Royal Collections Tour 2025
This presentation will share Peter’s experiences and reflections from participating in the Attingham Royal Collections Studies tour in 2025. He hopes to inspire other AICCM members to apply for the scholarship in the future.
Peter Mitchelson is a book and paper conservator working for Grimwade Conservation Services, the University of Melbourne. Prior to training as a conservator, he studied art history and worked in the art industry.
Caroline Fry, Paintings Conservator
ATTINGHAM STUDY PROGRAM 2023: “Andrea Palladio, Venice and the Veneto”.
Caroline will review this unique Study Program, which focussed on the architecture of Andrea Palladio, (b. 1508 -1580) one of the most influential architects of all time. Palladio worked exclusively in the Veneto, the area in the north of Italy centred around the wealth of Venice. Caroline will explain how she and delegates had unprecedented access into private Venetian homes, Palladian villas and their collections to learn alongside peer professionals from allied disciplines, in the perfection of the Venetian lagoon as backdrop for ‘object-based learning’.
Caroline Fry is a paintings conservator with over four decades experience in the conservation and museum profession, having worked as a conservator and educator in major institutes in Victoria. She recently retired from her role as a conservator at Grimwade Commercial Services and is now enjoying a return to conservation and fine art research.
When: Thursday 11 June, 5:30pm for 6pm commencement
