Hakim Abdul Rahim began his conservation journey in Singapore in 2009 and is currently based in Canberra, where he is the Heritage Conservation Lab Manager, sessional academic, and PhD candidate at the University of Canberra.
With a strong foundation in Botany, Museum Studies, and Materials Conservation, Hakim specializes in objects conservation, materials conservation education, natural history, and academic heritage. His PhD research explores plant collections in universities, applying a post-humanist and critical plant studies perspective to deepen understanding of their engagement and care.
Hakim is dedicated to advancing heritage and conservation, with a strong focus on natural history collections, university heritage, and engaging younger generations in the field.
