Planning for the next Textile Symposium, scheduled for July 2018, has begun. If anyone has any burning desire for a particular topic to be covered, workshop idea or inspirational guest speaker, please email tess@heightsheritage.com.au
Proposal at this stage is for it to be a two-day symposium in Sydney, with related visits and exhibition tours, probably the first week of July to avoid EOFY and School Holidays!
I am also looking in to the possibility of a ‘Back to Basics’ type workshop event in cleaning textiles. This would be a three-day workshop with morning lectures and afternoon practical sessions, covering new technologies in wet and solvent cleaning. It would be great to have Expressions of Interest in such a course or any other feedback before pursuing further.
