Please join us for the last AICCM NSW Division Event of the year (except for the Christmas Party)!

This is a night of talks where multiple conservators from different specialisations will discuss international training and funding opportunities undertaken. From learning about Time Based Art conservation, studying at West Dean and an internship in Malta, to a Summer School in Italy and the recent IIC Turin Prevent Conservation Conference.

Asti Sherring will discuss the multiple Time Based Art training events she has attended internationally over the last 2 years. This includes attending Getting Started: A Shared Responsibility, Caring for Time Based Media Artworks in Collections run by MoMA.

Bronwen Glover will speak about her MA studies in the conservation of Books and Library Materials at West Dean College in the UK from 2015-2017. This time also included a unique work experience opportunity at the Notarial Archives in Malta.

Lucilla Ronai will talk about her experiences in Italy at the Montefiascone Book Conservation Summer School and the three courses undertaken there. The talk will also touch on the Montefiascone Conservation Project which was started decades earlier by Australian Cheryl Porter and has gone on to involve conservators from around the world.

Sarah-Jane Rennie and colleagues will be exploring the very recent Preventive Conservation: The State of the Art IIC Turin Congress 2018. The 27th Biennial Congress attracted hundreds of people from over 53 countries- hear about the conference from the Australians that attended!

Come for nibbles at 5.30pm and the talks will start at 6.00pm sharp. We will vacate the room at 7.30pm but if you wish to, you can explore the new gallery spaces till 8.00pm.
