The Victoria branch of AICCM invites you to attend the next plastic focused Off the Record event: International Plastic Conservation Research and the PolyMuse Project. This event will be presented by Melbourne based members of the ARC-LP entitled ‘A National Framework for Managing Malignant Plastics in Museum Collections’, also known as PolyMuse (www.polymuse.net.au).

Content: Dr Petronella Nel will first introduce the PolyMuse project, Alice Cannon and Karina Palmer from Museums Victoria will then discuss the PolyMuse project from the museum perspective and PhD candidate Julianne Bell will present on international plastic conservation research. Bronwyn Cosgrove, Cancy Chu and Sharon Wong will introduce their PhD projects focusing on plastics in textiles, archives and the archaeological context. Grimwade Centre master’s students Karen Thompson, Kyra Kim, Fiona Hurel, Cancy Chu, Katrina Watson and Jennifer Todd will then introduce their minor thesis research contributing to the project, followed by a Q&A and panel discussion.
