Have you seen the remarkable changes happening to the Sydney Harbour Bridge? Heritage lanterns are being reinstated, unsightly additions are being removed to reduce clutter and painting works are ongoing.

1931 lantern units

Join us for an inspiring evening at the MCA with Peter Mann as he describes these important projects and how he plans to restore the excitement of crossing the Bridge. Peter is Strategic Infrastructure Manager (Sydney Harbour Bridge Team, RMS) and is responsible for the $19 million annual budget to maintain the Bridge.

Peter will talk on the approach he takes to works on the Bridge, how the Burra Charter influences the maintenance of a modern functioning asset, the role engineering and technology can play in providing heritage solutions, the nitty gritty of material selection, and how he communicates his ideas and persuades those around him.
