Frank Filippone, editor of Profile Magazine and organiser of Art Frame, the picture framing industry trade fair, again very generously offered a stand to AICCM. We had our first appearance at Art and Frame in Melbourne in 2013 and this year the fair was held from 14 to 16 August at Royal Randwick, Sydney.
Sophie Brown kindly offered to coordinate the stand and was assisted by Frederique Devaux, Abigail Hundley and Kay Söderlund. Sophie, Claire Heasman and Kay Söderlund presented the lecture “Framing with Conservation in Mind, Collaborating with Conservators” to approximately 30 framers. The lecture was followed by an extended question and answer session.
Thanks to Michelle Berry and Ian Batterham for suppling material for the stand and to Holly McGowan-Jackson and Malgorzata Sawicki for lending posters to us. In August 2017 year the fair returns to Melbourne so please lend a hand when we call for volunteers to mind the stand and help to publicise AICCM within the framing industry.
