Student Engagement: Bathurst heritage collections

In April and May 2018, Grace Barrand and I travelled to Bathurst NSW to work with the Bathurst Regional Council collections. As student conservators, we went to Bathurst as part of a Student Engagement Grant from the University of Melbourne and a collaboration with the Bathurst Council.

In May, the University of Melbourne held their Arts Faculty Awards. It was a great night for conservation with several outstanding students receiving awards.

I remember the moment I agreed to take on the Newsletter. It was at the National Council Face-to-Face meeting in 2012. Fiona Tennant from ICS had been editing the Newsletter for a long time (and doing a brilliant job!) and felt it was time to pass it on – new blood, new perspective and all that.
