2016 is shaping up to be an enormous year for SIG events. Our enthusiastic Convenors have hit the ground running and we currently have the following amazing professional development opportunities coming up:

- 26-27 April, Preservation of Functional Objects Workshop with David Hallam at Whitmore Park, WA
- 19-22 May, Textile SIG Symposium and three workshops on Adhesives, Metal Thread Cleaning and Underpinnings in Sydney, NSW
- June/July (TBC), Gordon Darling Foundation and ADFAS Reflective Transformation Imaging Workshop, Melbourne VIC and Perth WA
- August (TBC), Frames Symposium, National Gallery of Victoria, VIC
- 10-15 October, Light Colour Structure 9th Book, Paper and Photographic Materials Symposium at National Gallery of Australia, ACT
- 26-28 October, Paintings SIG Symposium ‘Revivify’ at the National Portrait Gallery, ACT
And 2017 is beginning to look just as amazing!

On a personal note I will not continue in the role of Event and SIG Co-ordinator beyond the 2017 National Conference. I’ve loved being involved in the National Council and this dynamic position, but feel the need to do something else after 5 years in the role. If anyone is interested in standing for the role and taking it on I’d love to hear from you. You can rely on me for mentoring in the role and a (hopefully) well staged handover.
