Abstract
Reports on the unusual occurrence of a parallel pigment layer phenomenon in paint samples from two rock art painting sites in Canada. It appears that the original pigment layer has separated by an as yet unknown chemical or physical process into distinct layers and that a form of pigment migration within the deposit has occurred.
