Abstract

This paper provides a brief summary of conservation measures researched and/or employed in N.S.W. To preserve Aboriginal art, with a description of problems incurred to date. Situations so far examined include stabilization of moving engraved rock slopes, methods of preventing run off onto paintings, trouble with lichen (on rock engravings) and treatment of carved trees. A major problem is lack of continuity in application of suggested conservation methods.
