About
Claire joined the ICS paintings conservation department in 2011, having completed a Masters of Cultural Materials Conservation at the University of Melbourne in 2010. Claire also holds a Bachelor degree in Visual Arts, which she gained at the Australian National University. In her role as a paintings conservator, Claire undertakes a wide variety of tasks, including the assessment and treatment of easel paintings, as well as treatment and condition reporting.

MATERIALS CONSERVATION
The professional conservators in our Materials Conservation Division undertake hands-on conservation treatment of your objects, textiles, paintings, artworks, furniture, photographs, sculptures, ethnographic metal and stone artefacts, archaeological material, monuments, memorials or building finishes, either in our conservation studios, or on site.
Our conservation treatments vary from preventive conservation approaches managing the environmental conditions for an object to stabilisation, reconstruction, restoration or museum-grade conservation. We clean, repair, mend, consolidate, patch, infill, refinish, and remove stains from artworks, artifacts or antiques; we also frame, mount, wrap, store, relocate, and rehang as appropriate.
