Didee Knight: Special Interest Group Coordinator and Event Coordinator

Although relatively new to the conservation sector in a professional capacity, I have a wealth of events coordination, office management, membership communication and publications experience and skills obtained from a long career in the provision and management of professional development within the health and education sectors.

Following a life long dream to train as a conservator particularly of quilts and textiles, I now have the opportunity to work within the cultural heritage sector upon completing UC’s BA in Heritage, Museums and Conservation.  Experience gained at the Fremantle Maritime Museum WA, Benalla Costume and Ned Kelly Museum VIC, National Wool Museum Geelong VIC and a recent internship at the National Gallery of Victoria, ensure my capacity to provide appropriate conservation services in the heritage sector.

Current and ongoing professional practice includes cultural heritage and artwork collection management, online catalogue and website content development and management, preventive conservation, exhibition and loans conservation alongside conservation education and community engagement.
