AICCM will celebrate its 50th birthday in 2023, marked by a National Conference in November. To celebrate this extraordinary milestone AICCM is embarking on its inaugural fundraising mission – the 50k for 50 Years anniversary appeal.

Our goal is to raise 50k by the time of the National Conference. Funds will be used to support up to five-member driven projects. Through these projects, our objective is to advance the vision and mission of the AICCM by investing in innovative, member-driven projects. Project proposals of up to $10,000 are invited across five key thematic areas that align with the objectives in the AICCM Strategic Plan:

  • First Nations values and voices in conservation;

  • Engaging with regional, rural and remote communities;

  • Next generation conservators and/or skills development;

  • Disaster resilience and climate change responses, and;

  • Advocacy, profile, and capacity building projects.

We are still seeking donations to reach our goal. To contribute to the campaign by making a tax-deductible donation towards the Anniversary Appeal, please click here.

Applications

Applications follow a two-stage process:

50k for 50 Years Anniversary Appeal EOI

17 August: Review panel convene to shortlist applications (date TBC)
18 August: Feedback provided to shortlisted applicants, who are invited to incorporate feedback and submit a full proposal. Applicants not proceeding to full proposal are also advised (date TBC)
17 September: Full proposals using the Full Proposal Template are due to the secretariat
10 October: Review panel convene to finalise recipients using the review matrix (See Full Proposal Template)
12 October: National Council meeting to approve recommendations of review panel
27 October: Recipients are advised of outcomes
15-17 November: National Conference announcements of awards and recognition of donors

It is expected that one project per area will be funded, however flexibility on this matter will be retained depending on submissions received. It is important that AICCM serve as partner on successful projects, and that project outcomes are appropriately long-term in view. Where applicants have identified that they will collaborate with a specific partner, it is a requirement that a Letter of Support from the partner is provided.
