Would you like to contribute to the AICCM and its activities?

In 2005 AICCM established the AICCM Public Fund in order to further its objective of the conservation of Australia's movable cultural heritage.

To donate over a secure weblink, please fill in our online form.

The Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material Inc. Public Fund is a tax-deductible fund listed on the Australian Government’s Register of Cultural Organisations (ROCO) maintained under Subdivision 30-B of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.

Donations of $2.00 or more are tax deductible.

The types of projects we intend to carry out with our Public Fund will promote the conservation of cultural heritage within Australia and will improve access to information and expertise in community and regional areas. Some example of proposed projects include:

  • A conservation outreach program for small collections, similar to the Angels Project run by the American Institute of Conservation. At present AICCM is forming an assistance program for those affected by the Victorian bushfires.
  • The development of an education kit for primary and secondary schools, about conservation issues.
  • Programs to improve access to conservation expertise for those living in regional areas.
  • Programs enabling research to be conducted on uniquely Australian heritage conservation issues.
  • The employment of an executive officer who would be able to work on advocacy issues, manage outreach programs, develop a media profile and lobby government on heritage issues.
  • Specialist resources for emergency response teams involved in the salvage of damaged heritage collections.
  • Scholarships and internships for conservation students.
  • Mid career training for professional conservators.

The AICCM Public Fund is administered by a committee comprised of Maria Kubik, Jan Lyall and Jan Lennon.

The AICCM Public Fund Donations committee comprises Detlev Lueth, Eric Archer, Jenny Dickens, Ian MacLeod and Tamara Lavrencic (observer).

A fact sheet from the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts on making tax deductible donations to cultural organisations is available here.
