PDF Print E-mail

Vinod Daniel, conservator and branch head at the Australian Museum in Sydney, was recently conferred the Indo-Australian Award for Meritorious Service 2009. The annual award is given to an individual who has contributed substantially to the relationship between India and Australia.

Vinod has created awareness in the Indian media about heritage conservation issues and has brought over 20 heritage delegations from Australia to India. He was instrumental in coordinating Australian assistance to develop a conservation charter for the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) and the development of an international exhibition gallery at the Prince of Wales Museum in Mumbai. Vinod has also played a key role in repatriating several objects from the Australian Museum to the Government Museum, Chennai.

Congratulations to Vinod!
